So much history here. Well worth the trip of you are a fan of history. Bring your walking shoes! What happened here will blow your mind if you are a history buff and don't miss the short movie. Actually see the movie in the visitors center here before you go on the walk around the site. It really helps to put everything you are seeing in context.
Excellent place! History is interesting, and the grounds are well-maintained. I was amazed that the fort looks so good after 200+ years. The visitor center has lots of good information, and the trail supplements it well. I definitely recommend watching the video-it's well done!

This is a great state park. We went to view the eclipse here. The staff was very friendly and thought of everything. Bathrooms snd water, first aid station and fun things for the kids to do. Very well run park.
This is the place to enjoy local history, nature, and learn ! Here you can watch a short film on the history of the fort and then walk the one mile trail that is pave and easy to follow and walk. Folks in a wheelchair will have no problems on the path, but may need a little help near the end of the trail as there is a hill. Often there are civil war reenactments, and historical living history eve ts held here. For those who want to get off the paved trail there are two non paved nature trails that are easy to follow as well. For the history buffs, this is one of the last few civil war battlefields where you can still see all the earthworks for the fort.
